Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. She was raised by her mother, in the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist insults, she was felt unloved. In the 9th grade, she began to feel more confident when she was praised by her teachers for her performance at school's audition. The experience not only boosted her confidence but also shifted her career ambition. She was a graduate of the New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. Her greatest break came in her performance as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her role. She gained more recognition when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. As a professional singer, she's also produced one single and an extended piece. In addition, she is a LGBT activist.
